How do I access my email?
There are many different email clients you can use to check your account with BrioHost. To check your email address you will need an email client that supports IMAP. Examples of these clients are Outlook, Eudora, Netscape, and SquirrelMail.

1. Quick Reference
The following settings will be required by most email clients to conect to your mail accounts. The examples below assume you host 'yourdomain' with BrioHost and you have added a new email address 'bob' to your account.

Examples:
 User: bob@yourdomain.com
 Pass: [set in control center]
 IMAP HOST: mail.yourdomain.com
 SMTP HOST: mail.yourdomain.com

NOTE: Your mail server requires SMTP AUTHORIZATION which means you must supply a username and passwod before you can send email though your smtp server. This will be an option in your preferences.


2. Checking email with Webmail.
Using webmail you can check your email accounts from any location that has a browser and is connected to the internet. You can check your email using webmail at the following locations:
http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail/
or
http://www.yourservername.com/webmail/
or
http://your.ip.address/webmail/

When prompted for username/password use the setting you created in your control center.
Example:
Username: bob@yourdomain.com
Password: [set in control center]

3. Checking email with Outlook.
Microsoft Outlook is a popular email client that supports the use of both POP and IMAP email accounts.
Setting up Microsoft Outlook Express to check your email.
1). Click on 'tools' then 'accounts'.
2). After the accounts window comes up select the 'mail tab', then click the 'add' button and select 'mail'.
3). Enter the email address you would like to check 'someone@yourname.com'. After you have done so click next to continue.
4). At this screen you are prompted to enter the POP3 and SMTP servers. Choose 'IMAP' from the list of incoming mail servers. Enter 'mail.yourdomain.com' in the incoming and outgoing mail server box. Finally, click next to continue your email setup.
5). On this screen you need to enter your username and password for the email address you are setting up. The username for your email accounts at BrioHost are the full email address.
Example:
Username: bob@yourdomain.com
Password: [set in control center]
Note: you might want to check the 'Save Passwordword' box. Do not check SPA box.
6). Select the account you just created (highlight it) and click 'Properties'. Select the 'servers tab' at the top to display the window above, you need to check 'My server requires Authentication'.
7). Click apply and then OK.
8). You have successfully configured Outlook to check your email account.

4. Checking email with Eudora.
1). From Eudora's Tools menu, select Options.
2). Highlight Getting Started. Type your full name in the Real Name box.
3). Type your email address in the Return Address box.
4). Type mail.yourdomain.com in the Mail Server (Incoming) box.
5). Type your username in the Login Name box (Your full email address - someone@yourdomain.com).
6). Type mail.yourdomain.com in the SMTP Server (Outgoing) box.
7). Do not click OK yet. Click Sending Mail.
8). Make sure Allow authentication is checked.
9). Finally, click on OK. You have successfully setup your email in outlook.
